Along with the new look of GiantsBeat.com we’ve also added two great new features that will be for members only! We’ve experienced great growth in the past 12 months, both in traffic and in membership, and we want a way to reward our loyal members and encourage those that haven’t signed up yet to join us.

The first feature is the “Vancouver Giants Headlines” service on the home page. This will make it much easier for Giants fans to follow the Vancouver Giants as every time that a major newspaper, website or blog writes about the Vancouver Giants, you’ll find it it in the first five links. The second set of five links comes from the blog of Province sports writer Steve Ewen's blog, The Dub Hub. All you need to do is click n the link and you’ll be taken to the story in a new window.

The second feature is the one we’re most excited about. During every Giants road game this year we’ll be hosting a live chat for all members. The “live chat” option will appear on the home page one hour prior to the start of each road game and will stay open until 30 minutes after the game ends.This is something that a number of you asked for last year and we’re thrilled that we’re able to offer it.

Lastly, Wednesday night we’ll be announcing our contests for the 2008-09 season which will also only be open to members. We’re hoping to make 2008-09 our best season yet and really hope that everybody enjoys their time on our site and at the Coliseum. We also have a few other items in the pipeline that we hope to roll out sometime this season, so stay tuned.
